Privacy Policy

Information you give us

• Account details: your name, email address and password when you create an account, plus your role (for example player, parent, coach or trainer). Passwords are handled by our authentication provider; we never see them in plain text.
• Profile photo, if you choose to add one.
• Game film and content you create: videos you upload, clips, stats, notes, voice notes, play diagrams, team and league names, logos and player names or numbers you enter.
• Messages you send us, such as support emails or in-app feedback.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: which screens and features you use and when, tied to your account so we can understand how the app is used.
• Crash and diagnostic data: crash logs, device model, OS version and app version, so we can find and fix bugs.
• A push notification token, if you allow notifications.
• We do not collect your precise location, contacts or advertising identifier, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Device permissions

• Photo library: to pick game film to import and to save graphics and clips you export. We only access the items you choose.
• Microphone: only when you record a voice note.
• Notifications: only if you allow them.

How we use information

• To provide the app: run your account, store and stream your film, sync stats and notes, and let you share with the people you invite.
• To manage subscriptions and the storage they include.
• To send notifications you’ve opted into.
• To fix bugs, keep the service secure, and improve features.
• To train and improve our player, ball, court and basket detection models, using frames and footage from uploaded film.
• To respond when you contact us.
• We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Sharing

We share information only in these cases:

• With people you choose. When you share a game, note or folder, or invite someone to a team or league, the people with that link or invite can see that content.
• With service providers that run parts of the service for us, under their own privacy and security terms: Google Firebase (accounts, database, file storage, push notifications and crash reporting), Bunny.net (video streaming), Mixpanel (product analytics) and Roboflow (improving our detection models from selected video frames).
• With Apple, which processes all payments and subscriptions. We never receive your card details.
• When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or others.
• If Highlight Factory is involved in a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.

Retention

• We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active.
• Original uploaded videos are removed from our storage about 14 days after processing; the streaming copy stays until you delete the game.
• Exported clips are deleted from our servers within 24 hours.
• When you delete a game, its video and stream are deleted. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information and content within 30 days, except where we must keep it by law.

Your choices and rights

• You can view and edit your profile in the app, and delete games, notes and other content at any time.
• To delete your account and its data, or to request a copy of your data, email hello@highlightfactory.app.
• You can turn off notifications and photo or microphone access in iOS Settings at any time.
• Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, or to object to some processing. Contact us and we’ll respond within the time the law requires.

Children

• Highlight Factory is built for coaches, trainers, parents and players, and accounts are intended for people 13 and older. Youth game film is typically uploaded by a parent, coach or league administrator.
• We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email hello@highlightfactory.app and we’ll delete it.

Security

• Data is encrypted in transit, and access to stored film and data is restricted by account. Shared video uses signed links that expire. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

• If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page and let you know in the app or by email before they take effect.
